How long should i wait before driving on my newly applied garage floor coating?

It's safe for light foot traffic after 24 hours if the temperature is 77°F or higher. If the temperature is lower, wait 36 to 48 hours before allowing light foot traffic. Depending on temperature and humidity, we recommend that you keep standard size vehicles off the ground for at least 3 days. Larger vehicles and SUVs must be turned off for 4 days.

Heavy commercial vehicles must be turned off for 5 days. While epoxy takes seven days to cure, the floor can be dry enough to walk on after about 12 hours and be ready for light use after 24 hours. However, be careful, as these deadlines don't apply to all situations. The colder and less humid an environment is, the longer the process will take.

To apply an epoxy coating for garage floors, a minimum temperature of 50-55° F (10-13° C) is required.

Urethane coatings for garage floors

require a minimum temperature of 40° F (4° C) to be applied. That significantly restricts the times of year when they can be used on garage floors located in colder climates. Even with long-lasting protection, garage floors should be cleaned from time to time during the winter months.

This will generally depend on how much preparation the old floor will need before the new floor can be laid. This puts additional pressure on the natural process of expansion and contraction that a garage floor experiences with changes in temperature. I love the apartments and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs an exceptional flooring solution. This way, you can close the garage door without having to worry about debris or insects entering the freshly applied EpoxyMaster floor.

In addition to taking care of your garage floor covering project, Garage Living's other garage remodeling solutions can also be installed any time of the year. Because many people mistakenly assume that they have to wait until spring or summer to get their floors rearranged, the lead time for booking a garage flooring project is actually shorter in winter. Making the wise decision to place your garage floor covering in winter and no later means you can enjoy a better-looking garage floor much sooner. And whether you receive your garage floor covering in winter or any other time of year, Garage Living continues to offer the same 10-year limited warranty after every floor application.

It's a common misconception that homes located in Nordic climates can't get a new garage floor covering in winter. There are even a couple of advantages to rejuvenating the damaged floor with a polyaspartic coating for garage floors in winter. I am a self-confessed fan of epoxy floors and dog lovers, my great team and I love transforming a normal floor into something beautiful with a carefully applied epoxy finish. Applying a polyaspartic coating before winter begins gives you the best protection for your garage floor.

Since the epoxy coating of EpoxyMaster is not soluble in water, it may not cross this moisture barrier and, therefore, the bond between the EpoxyMaster and the floor may not be as good as possible.
